Attractive but Poorly Designed; I Regret My Choice
By from Wichita, KS, USA on May 26, 2015
I wish I could talk to designers the of this range. I fear the range was great in theory but not in practice. It is lovely and cooks evenly and well; however, it has several design flaws that make me wish I had not purchased this range. First of all, and most importantly, the oven vents under the control panel, which means that when I want to turn on the timer, hot air is blowing on my hand. Normally this might not be a huge problem, but the timer is very difficult to use: buttons are difficult to depress, and it is hard to understand the logic of the timing features. These items combined mean that I have nearly burned my hand (and actually did on burn it on the black rail under the controls the first time I used the oven.) Also, since it vents into the kitchen, the room becomes very hot. I have used electric recently, so maybe that is typical of gas, but it really is a drawback. As I mentioned, it is very attractive and the stovetop and oven do work efficiently, but using the oven tonight (and experiencing the difficulty with the timer and the hot air nearly burning me) inspired me to write this review and warn others.

I just want to thank the workers in Danville appliance section-Chris went out of his way to get my stove to me on the same day I purchased it-cancelled another and made everything happen painlessly. I have to say my shopping at Lowes is night and day different than my recent experience with Menards. Thank you!

Glass exploded during preheat
By from Fort Wayne, IN on Mar 27, 2015
3.5 months after purchase Glass door exploded during preheat. LG customer service is garbage only takes 4 "supervisors" until you''re transferred to the States. Overall a very nice appearance. Most likely an isolated incident until you do a quick Google search. However, wasn''t treated with much Respect or Concern from LG given the potential of injury of the event.

Wow, what a nice range!
By from California, USA on Dec 10, 2014
I dreamt of Viking and other high priced ranges, but this wasn''t in our budget for our recent kitchen update. I was able to see this range in store (it''s a stock item) and thought it would be adequate. We were blown away by the quality when we started to use it and how great it looks in our new kitchen. Excellent value for the price. It cooks evenly with lots of control. Oven is huge and heats evenly and fast. I love the chunky knobs and how easy it is to clean the range top. We were missing one of the burner covers and called LG customer service. They mailed us a new cover which arrived in 5 days. We had an exhausting experience with Lowe''s contract delivery service, but now that my stove is in and we''re cooking I will forget that part. This is an amazing stove!

Best Purchase Ever
By from Columbus, OH, USA on Nov 01, 2014
I absolutely love my new LG range. I''ve never been able to boil water for pasta on my others. But with the PowerPlus burner it happened in no time. I had a power burner on my other range but it never ever boiled water as quick as my new LG. My very large frying pan fits nicely in the center burner, and the simmer burner works perfectly. I''ve always wondered about cooking in the oven. With my new LG the instruction manual actually tells you what level to place your rack for cooking certain foods. And, the blue interior makes it easier to see food in there. The whole thing is easy to operate, not too many functions to figure out and it''s just easy to operate. I highly recommend this range.

Looks great... issues with control panel
By from Long Island on Mar 21, 2014
I bought this oven pretty much for the looks. The purple/cobalt interior is striking, I fell in love with it. Pictures do it no justice, the thing just glows in person. Its attractive on the exterior as well, the knobs are cool, big and chunky, and have sorta gold/bronze hue to chrome. Though I believe the instrument panel is a bit plain looking. The stainless steel is ''fingerprinty'' for sure. My biggest qualm with this stove is the instrument panel. This is the type of appliance that after a few weeks YOU will have no problem using, but every visitor will never be able to figure out. Here is the thing - its a minor detail, but comes up quite a bit - you need to press ''start'' after every function. To turn on the broiler, you press broiler button, adjust for hi or lo, then hit start. Ditto on preheating the oven. For the first few weeks you will forget to press start and come back to your oven wondering why its not hot. It sorta just loses your setting after 30 seconds or so if you didnt press start. Ditto on the timer, press the timer-on button, dial in your time, and press start. Dont press start and it will just reset in a few minutes. This part takes getting used to. This part is a personal peeve - there is a cook timer and regular timer, if I''m not using the cook-timer (meaning it turns off the oven), when the regular timer expires it keeps beeping until you press something. If it were a cook-timer, i''d understand because you dont want to leave something in the oven, but not as a kitchen timer. I''d rather it just beep to indicate its over and then stop. So it becomes inconvenient for use as a secondary timer (example, I use a timer to count time to brew coffee in a french press - and have to get up to turn off the beeping timer). I''ll actually be buying another simple kitchen timer, which is sorta silly. The way the timer works is silly too. Press the timer-on, and start dialing in time and it goes in ten minute increments (you can''t choose minutes....unless...) unless, you press the timer button twice to choose the minute entry mode. I find this to be thought out backwards. No guest will ever know how to use your timer, I promise that. Let me just dial in minutes, and hold down longer to let it start jumping up in bigger increments. Lastly - and this is by far the biggest issue - which makes me slightly worried about the longevity of the product - the quality of the control panel. Its sorta squishy electronic buttons behind a plastic panel. Common oven construction - but the buttons sometimes take some force to get them to respond (add in the frustration factor of the issues I noted above) - and you''re pressing kinda hard on a plastic panel. I give it a couple months before the panel has permanent indentations from being over-pressed, and a short number of years before the plastic cracks and/or buttons just stop responding. I wish the buttons were significantly more responsive - for close to a thousand dollars, some good touch-sensitivity or higher quality buttons behind the panel would be appropriate.

I''m very happy with my range.
By from Vacaville, CA, USA on Feb 23, 2014
I''m nothing but pleased with my new LG Range. Having the 5 burners with the various sizes is a plus in my book. Another plus for me was the actual look and brand of the range.

Great Range
By from Las Vegas, NV, USA on Dec 18, 2013
After looking closely at other brands, the first thing that got me was the cobalt blue oven interior - striking !!! The first test was cooking my Sunday sauce; the flame control is excellent, the sauce simmered all day, never burning or boil over...perfect. The power burners got a large pot of water boiling in about half the time of the our basic contractor grade stove. The three cast iron grates provide a solid surface and do not move while moving a pan around. Oven yet to be tested, just heating up to warm a loaf of bread I noticed how quick the oven came up to temperature. Overall, very pleased with the purchase, priced right for a high quality range with features of higher priced stoves. Durability will yet to be seen.
