I have this sconce installed, the direction of the lighting shines over my address which is an impressive sight, the light shines downward at an 45 degree angle, I have two, one on either of the garage opening, and the look good. I have neighbors stopping to ask where did I get the lamps.
This is a good product. It is well made, and attractive. It is surprisingly expensive for such a simple device, but I needed such a light, so that was that. It was a bit hard to mount it on the wall, but now that it is up, it is secure. It is engineered for out of doors, and is sure to survive well there.
First, ATG was fairly expedient with their shipping. I, on the other hand, seemed to have had a difficult time selecting the appropriate size and items. Initially I ordered Kichler outdoor sconces that were WAY too big for the space that they were going in. I returned them, which was simple and then reordered what I thought to be the same exact sconces, but considerably smaller. Sadly, I reordered sconces that only lit one way, as opposed to the initial huge ones that had open lighting up and down, so I am not totally happy with what I have, however it's my fault for not returning them promptly, as I was awaiting my final inspection which my contractor ended up taking forever to schedule.
The lights are beautiful, look great and work well . . . I would, however, still love to have both upward and downward lighting.
A satisfied, but inexperienced shopper.
How would you rank the quality of instructions and ease of installation/set-up?

I installed this fixture in my street-facing garage (on both sides of the door). It looks great!
The installation was a bit tricky, as my siding is cedar shingles and part of the attachment plate needs to stick out past the siding enough on both the top and bottom in order for the fixture to screw into it. Although I am skilled, it took me an extra 20 minutes to figure out how to get the plate to stick out enough on top to mount it, yet not have a gap through which water could enter the junction box.
Once installed, the fixture looks fine and works fine.
I don't know why light fixtures are sold at such a premium. This one costs less than many others I looked at, but is still expensive for what it is (a metal box with a standard light socket inside). That's why I rated the value as average. However, I could not find a nice looking fixture for less, so once could argue that it's a good value.
