Yesterday, we shared some fun ideas for how you can take advantage of a loft or other large living area with ambitious interior design decisions. Below, you'll find four more bold moves you can make in a bigger space.

Large, Lavish Lighting Fixtures

Okay, so they don’t have to be lavish, but if you have a big space then you also have an opportunity to experiment with some really cool lighting designs. Chandeliers, pendants and DIY lighting creations are great for establishing focus in airy rooms.

Plus, you don’t have to go with just one fixture. In smaller rooms, a large light fixture is a centerpiece that stands alone, but those rules don’t necessarily apply in bigger rooms, especially when they have high ceilings.

Wildly Wide Wall Art

Huge canvases look great when you have enough surface area to hang them. There’s a reason why museums like to show off the really outsized stuff (no offense, Mona Lisa), and it’s not just because they have the room.

Large paintings like the ones above, tapestries and photos can create a more emotional response, which never hurts when it comes to displaying artwork.

Super-Sized Sectional Sofas

Like a shark-finned Cadillac Brougham, the sectional sofa is a symbol of bygone American luxury – but it doesn’t have to be. Sectional sofas are still part of the design landscape, and have even gone through some refinements over the years.

In other words, if you have the room you could be one giant L-shape away from sweet, cushion-y heaven.

Mono-Dimensional Multimedia

More wall space means more opportunity for creative expression, which to some people means more room for TVs. That’s all well and good, but with a little paint (or plaster) and some imagination you can create something much grander.

Digital projection has improved greatly over the years and large rooms are the perfect place to experiment. You can use a projector to run movies, sure, but you can also use one to project precious art, a music visualizer or your own creative works.

Use these ideas in your loft or other large living area to bring it to life in a way that makes the most of your space, and if you need more ideas you can always ask an interior designer online at Decorist.com or find one locally at Porch.com.

The "Grant" by Chelsea Home really fills out a room, especially when paired with an oversized ottoman or coffee table.

For those who can't decide which style to choose, the Warehouse of Tiffany "Saturn's Rings" chandelier merges modern and classical design elements.
