5 Best Picnic Parks for July 4th Fireworks

4th of July 2016, July 4th 2016, ID4 2016, picnic supplies, picnic baskets

With a long July 4th weekend ahead of us, there’s plenty of time yet to plan on where you’re going to watch the Big Show, and we’ve got a few ideas for those who are looking for a picnic in the park while those beautiful bombs are bursting in air.

Of course, there are plenty of places with amazing fireworks displays – maybe even in your own backyard – but we scoured the internet for the best picnic spots with a fab Fourth of July view.

Save on supplies now during our Picnic Patriot sale when you use code FREEDOM20, and then get to one of our six picks for great Independence Day picnicking:

Gas Works Park – Seattle, WA

As a company based in the Pacific Northwest, Gas Works is near and dear to our hearts, and offers a great vantage point for the Seattle fireworks show.

Things get packed, as this is the location for the Seafair Summer Fourth celebration, but entry is free and you’re still allowed to picnic with your own food and drink – if you can find a spot. If not, there’ll be plenty of treats on hand.

Addison Point – Addison, TX

The Kaboom Town! fireworks show in Addison is so big you’re not to miss it, even if you stake a claim in a smaller area park for your picnic.

The American Pyrotechnics Association places the Kaboom Town! fireworks show among the top 10 in the nation, second only to Houston in size for land-based displays.

Lakeside Beach – Lake Tahoe, CA

You’ll have to pay a fee (this is Lake Tahoe, after all), but it’s worth it for what locals call the largest synchronized fireworks show west of the Mississippi.

Set against the Sierra Nevada backdrop, the Lights on the Lake festival is not to be missed if you’re in the area. And yes, picnicking is allowed – or it wouldn’t be on the list!

Promontory Point – Chicago, IL

Chicago is renowned for its citywide Independence Day celebrations and there are plenty of fireworks displays for every taste, from picnickers to partiers and everyone in between.

But, if you want to see the Navy Pier fireworks while enjoying some outdoor recreation, Promontory Point (Burnham Park) is a good pick. If that’s too crowded, though, you can also try Jackson Park and Rainbow Beach Park.

South Beach – Miami, FL

Last, but certainly not least, are the fireworks at South Beach. “Picnic” may take on new forms in Miami, but it’s still the same American vibe – food, family and fun in the sun.

This year it means BBQ and a nonstop dance party, but picnicking spots abound up and down the beach, and on many other beaches in the surrounding area that also offer great views of the Miami city skyline.

Have a happy, safe Fourth of July, and enjoy your picnic party in true American style during our Picnic Patriot Celebration – with 20% off sitewide when you use code FREEDOM20.

The Picnic Time “Tranquility Chair” folds up small and travels anywhere for outdoor fun at all of your favorite picnic spots.

The “Mocha Metro” picnic tote by Picnic Time is fully collapsible, insulated with a water-resistant liner and includes a drawstring top to keep all your goodies secure.
