Period style refers to a style that represents a specific historical period. Victorian style, Tudor style and Georgian style are just three of many examples of period style throughout history. To focus on one period is to exclude all others; blending period styles can thwart the successful execution of a period look. One way to approach period style is to get familiar with the styles of the desired era and geographic location. For example, the Victorian style was born out of England’s Victorian era, which lasted roughly from 1840 to 1900 and was a period that embraced classical European style.
