Incandescent lamps represent the original lighting technology, remaining virtually unchanged since their invention in the mid-19th century, and the lighting technology Satco® was founded upon. This is the technology most everyone has become familiar with and the baseline comparison for all other lighting technologies. Type "B" and "CA" lamps are of the most familiar incandescent candelabra lamps.
Features a coiled tungsten filament

Selected bulb initially provides 640 lumens (10.7lm/W efficacy) with an estimated yearly energy cost of $7.23 (based on 3hrs/day at 11¢/kWh)
We ordered 75 CA-9 Flicker-Flame bulbs which came nicely packaged in 25-packs and individually sub-packaged. Flicker flame bulbs have two pieces of metal cut into the shape of a flame and placed close together in a bulb filled with neon gas. They produce an irregular orange glow which flickers and looks something like a candle flame, only slightly pinker. The CA-5 bulb is slightly smaller and narrower. We placed them in a 65-unit fixture, where they make a cool (or cheesy) 'haunted castle' effect. The bulbs are somewhat temperature dependent and about 10% stopped working and another 10% sometimes work and sometimes do not after 6 months. I don't mind the effect as a real candle might 'blow out' too, but if you have a smaller fixture or you need them all to work you may want to order 20% more than you actually need to compensate for the high 'burn in' failure rate. These bulbs have been around forever but those who haven't seen them are usually impressed. All in all I'm quite satisfied and the customer service at Lighting Universe was first-rate too.
