It''s not easy

The valve works perfectly after you get it installed. It was very difficult getting it to seat all the way into the faucet.

Not A Very Good Buy
By from Kentucky, USA on Jul 18, 2015
I purchased this replacement for my daughters shower/tub faucet. I was having problems removing the old one so I purchased the tool for removing it at Lowes also and the removal tool broke in the process. My wife and I both worked to get the old one out with great difficulty. I would not recommend this product, and I would be very wary of purchasing a Moen faucet in the future.

Does the Job

Did some research on the internet prior to installing this cartridge and learned some installation tricks that made changing this out a snap. Shower now works like new.

Very easy to change

tried cheaper non Moen brand. It started leaking after 10 minutes. Only saved 5 dollars. Used this valve and no leaks. Easy to change. Stay away from "cheaper brands"

A quick fix.

Simple replacement for a worn out cartridge. I would recommend purchasing a core puller to remove the old one. makes it an easy job.

Stops those drips in the night
By from Elkton, MD on Jan 08, 2015
Upon taking the old cartridge out I discovered a broken rubber ring, That was the culprit. Also when using the plastic tool to loosen the old cartridge try to just rock it back and forth a bunch without going too far left or right to loosen it up. Chances are the old plastic tabs on the old cartridge will shatter and break off, Lets face it they''ve been sitting there for 10-15 years probably. This happened to me so I just kept twisting it to loosen then grabbed the stem real close to the base and pulled it out with a pair of pliers, like channellocks. Be careful because some water stuck between the shower head and faucet will come out unless you didn''t turn the main off first, then you''re in trouble lol. The one thing with me is I have a shower with a handle that turns 270degrees. Cold first then hot all the way with the mix in between. The instructions told me to put the new cartridge in with the HC facing up but this doesn''t work my type of shower. I had to place it in 180 degrees with the HC facing down and everything worked fine. This is the second time I''ve done this repair in my house and I''d say the first time took probably about 45 minutes because I was a little scared pulling the cartridge out but its really no big deal it just pulls out after some loosening. This one took all of 15 minutes because it''s really a snap. Electrician by trade here LOL
