Very Happy
By from Calgary on Jan 31, 2016
I went in to the store fully expecting to buy a different brand. The one I wanted wasn''t on sale and my second choice wasn''t in stock so I came home with the LG.
The install went very well...done by myself in a couple of hours. Powered up right away. No troubles.
It is very quiet. I thought it wasn''t running and needed to put my head next to it to make sure. I washed a full load on the Quick cycle and everything came out perfectly dry and spotless. It even removed some of the film that had been deposited on my glassware by my old monster. The interior is very roomy and I like the fact that I can adjust racks. It is nice to be able to change the configuration if I want to wash larger pans.I have only had it for a week, so I can''t speak to the longevity of this dishwasher, but at this point I am very happy with my purchase.

Don''''t purchase this product!
By from Toronto on Jan 30, 2016
After our 6 year old dishwasher quit, we decided to purchase this one. What a mistake! This dishwasher has a fold down rack system. At first I thought it was a good idea but the pins don''''t lock into place and are constantly falling causing plates to fall, the soap pods do not disintegrate leaving soap in the reservoir (not our water temp), it takes 2 hours to run a normal cycle and the cutlery caddy is constantly coming apart. Very disappointed with this purchase, so much so that this is my first product review ever. When all is said and done, I could have bought 2 different ones for the same price and I''''m sure they would have done a better job.

Service terrible and disappointed in Lowe''s
By from In Whitby on Dec 29, 2015
Purchased this dishwasher November 27, picked up November 29. December 28 has an LE error which is a motor problem with a leak from the motor. Called service they can get a technician out December 30 at the earliest. Call from LG service December 29 saying they cannot come till the 31 and can only confirm on the 30th what time. Apparently all three people plus the supervisor made a mistake with the appointment. Called Lowes and I am over the 30 days (!!!) so they cannot do anything except call LG and see why so long for service. Very disappointed with this purchase and the service provided on a machine that is less than a month old. Bought 3 LG appliances this year this will be the last time I buy an LG product. Just hope the other two work well

Ordered this dw 10/27/2015. Never got it till 12/12! Ordered it in white. Why such a long delivery time? When delivered, husband hooked it up. It didn''t work!! Called LG...said they would have a tech here in 1-5 days. By 3rd. Day I hadn''t heard , so I called again. Then gave me a service date of 12/22 for someone to come. Which means probably 2 more weeks of waiting to get this dw fixed! I have waited long enough, and called Lowes to come and get this thing as I don''t want it!! Afraid that this is just the beginning of problems with it! Ordered a kitchenaid from Homedepot and will have it next week! Problem is with LG and not with Lowes.

The One I Bought Was A Waste Of Money
By from Chula Vista on Nov 24, 2015
In October of 2013, I bought model number LDS5540ST. Within a couple of weeks, I began noticing that it was doing a poor job of washing dishes: glassware came out with water spots, and there were sometimes particles of food still on them even though I rinse off 99.9% of any food from my dishes before putting them into the dishwasher. Honestly, this new LG didn''t clean the dishes any better than the one it replaced. It got so bad over time that I routinely began inspecting the dishes as they came out of the dishwasher, and putting them back in for another cycle if they didn''t meet my standards. And yes, I always used the recommended detergent and rinse aid, but apparently that had no effect whatsoever. Another problem that popped up within the first month was that the bottom rack simply would not stay on its rails. Rolling out the rack to load the dishes, and rolling it back in for the wash was usually an exercise in extended frustration as the rack would inevitably fall off the rails and get tangled up with the bottom sprayer arm. It was worse when the rack was full of dishes because of the added weight. Ultimately I would have to bend down and lift the rack up and out of the dishwasher then carefully place each of the rollers on the rail, and try to keep them aligned as I slowly pushed the rack back into the tub. It usually took two or three efforts on average in order to get the bottom rack to stay on the rails as I slid it back in. Another problem that sprung up within the first year was that the soap dispenser became encrusted with soap scale, and eventually locked shut. I fiddled with the mechanism a little in order to unlock it each time, but eventually the mechanism failed altogether causing me to have to leave the dispenser open all the time. This unfortunately allowed the soap to spill out as soon as I closed the dishwasher door. Of course the soap scale now left a stubborn flow pattern leading from the dispenser to the bottom of the tub. The final problem with this model was that the dinner plate racks were designed in a way that made it harder to get the plates clean. The racks forced the plates to lean forward at such a severe angle that the plates nearly lay on top of one another. The only way to give each plate enough room for the water jets to clean them properly was to drastically under-load the machine and stack the plates diagonally across two different rows. Even so, the plates still had an awkward and precarious lean which only slightly increased the efficiency of the wash cycle. I''ve owned three dishwashers before this one and every single one of them stood the dinner plates upright. Looking at most of the reviews from other LG dishwasher purchasers, they appeared to be pretty happy with their investments, but then again perhaps they weren''t reviewing the specific model I bought. Nevertheless, I wouldn''t recommend this particular model to anyone unless they were my worst enemy. So here it is, two years later, and finally I had had enough of the frustration and the poor job of dishwashing this machine was doing. I went out and bought a General Electric. I knew I was going to be happy as soon as I started loading the dinner plates because the dishes stood upright, and on this machine the lower rack rolls on a rail system that is substantial and precise. Needless to say, my first wash load came out sparkling. I was so impressed! The glassware came out looking new again, and the silverware shined. Don''t waste your money on this model of the LG dishwasher, whatever you do. As for me, I won''t put anymore LG dishwashers in my house again. Oh, I suppose there is one redeeming quality to the LG: it''s quiet. But frankly, I don''t care if the dishwasher barks, as long as it cleans my dishes correctly.

Don''t bother buying this product
By from Ludington, MI, USA on Nov 09, 2015
This dishwasher is of good quality and durability. It was easy to install. That is the end of the good things I can say about it. There is no rinse and hold cycle. Dishes do not come out clean - even when using the "Power Scrub" cycle. The dishes are never dry, even though there is an "Extra Dry" option. The dishwasher runs for over 3 1/2 hours on Power Scrub with Extra dry, and the dishes are wet, and some are still dirty. We have been using this dishwasher for over a year, and it still gives off a smell of oil when we run it. LG makes excellent phones and TV''s, and I regret purchasing this LG dishwasher!!

could not use too large to fit. should be 33 3/4H
By from Shelbyville, TN, USA on Oct 24, 2015
This unit will only fit in and area that is 34" high. MY open area was only 33 3/4" high due to tile in floor. Could not use this unit but Lowes was able to allow me the exchange the unit for a unit that would fit.

Love, Love, Love It!
By from SE Tennessee on Oct 08, 2015
One of my concerns in choosing which dish washer to purchase was that it had to have a stainless steel interior, it was reasonable and "quiet". I was told by the salesman of our prior dishwasher that it was quiet, but now I can strongly disagree. Until you buy it, have it installed, load it and turn it on you really don''t know. This LG dishwasher is so quiet you can barely hear it when standing right next to it. We''ve purchased other LG products and never had an issue with any of them so I felt comfortable buying this one. I would definitely recommend this LG model to anyone interested in a dishwasher with these attributes.
