Linear lights are a subset of commercial lighting fixtures that use a long, narrow configuration to help efficiently provide light to a larger area. Linear
lights are typically fluorescent fixtures, utilizing low wattage and energy saving T5 and T8 fluorescent tubes. It is worth noting that many of our linear
lights are also UL listed, which means that they have been tested and approved by Underwriters Laboratories, a nationally recognized safety certification
organization. Some of the most popular linear light fixtures are linear surface mounts, linear strips, fluorescent pendants, and recessed troffers:
Linear surface mount fixtures
are designed to be mounted directly on the surface of the ceiling for ease of installation. These fixtures are typically fairly neutral in terms of
design, featuring simple translucent box enclosures, and are common choices for commercial office lighting or residential kitchen or garage usage.
are sleek and compact fixtures that will usually feature a single fluorescent tube. Strip lighting is again meant to be mounted directly onto a
surface, and can be easily added to most spaces. The compact size and long format of linear strip lighting makes it ideal accent lighting for spaces
such as under cabinets, along architectural features like divisions between different ceiling heights, or on the edges of installations such as bars.
, also called linear suspension lighting, are much the same sort of lighting as linear strips or surface mounts, but with the design difference of
being suspended down from the ceiling with durable cables. This configuration adds a bit of visual interest to an otherwise utilitarian fixture and can
make linear lighting more functional for spaces that have high ceilings.
are inset fixtures that are made to be installed up into a ceiling with a flush edge. A recessed fixture can give a space a clean and modern feel or,
with the addition of decorative lighting panels, can bring a bold decorative touch. Decorative lighting panels are available in designs from faux iron
scrollwork to imitation skylights or windows, and can add a bright and airy element to any space.
