ATGStores.com Supports New York School of Interior Design Green Roof Initiative, Offers Product Donation, Ongoing Partnership Program

Kirkland, WA - November 17, 2016

Online luxury furnishings retailer ATGStores.com is partnering with the New York School of Interior Design in Manhattan for its Green Roof Initiative, a project now underway that aims to redesign an NYSID building rooftop as a sustainable garden for student use.

The partnership began in September when ATGStores.com creative director and designer Alexa Hampton, who is also an NYSID trustee, invited the company’s president, Michelle Newbery, to join her on a consulting panel for the project.

“When I heard about the NYSID project I knew ATGStores.com would want to get involved,” Hampton said. “As a home furnishings retailer with a wide selection of eco-friendly outdoor designs, it seemed like a perfect fit.”

The project was created by the NYSID U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) student group as a way to educate the community on green design and sustainability through the gift of a rooftop garden. A three-person team crafted the proposal, which was then reviewed by the panel.

The college is now raising funds for design implementation, and that spurred an idea for further support from ATGStores.com.

“After getting to know the NYSID students and faculty, we knew we wanted to forge a partnership that would take us beyond the Green Roof Initiative,” Newbery said.

ATGStores.com plans to furnish the rooftop garden space once complete, and is also now offering NYSID faculty, alumni and students an exclusive discount on all future purchases to help with design costs on projects of any kind.

“It was thrilling when NYSID students first proposed transforming our 70th Street roof into a garden for our community. It’s a great demonstration of the power of design to transform lives,” said NYSID president David Sprouls. “I am delighted to welcome ATGStores.com as a sponsor of this important project and our partner in preparing our students to be leaders in interior design.”

The new green space is slated for completion in spring 2017 and will be a welcome addition to the college and its community.

Ranked the #1 interior design school in the United States by DesignInteligence, the New York School of Interior Design is a private, nonprofit college focused exclusively on interior design. The college offers certificate, undergraduate, and graduate programs for students at all stages of their careers – whether they’re just becoming familiar with the discipline, considering a career change, or looking to deepen knowledge in a particular area. Founded in 1016, NYSID has been leading the study of interior design for a century and has trained many of the designers whose work defines interior design today. Home Furnishings Retailer Makes $1 Million Product Donation Commitment to Habitat for Humanity ReStores

Kirkland, WA - October 6, 2016

ATGStores.com is increasing its annual Habitat for Humanity product donation amount to $1 million in 2016, which will boost inventory at 24 of Habitat’s ReStore resale outlets.

Online furnishings retailer ATGStores.com is renewing its commitment to Habitat for Humanity through a product donation with a retail value of $1 million, up from $500,000 last year, and products are already being shipped to Habitat for Humanity ReStores nationwide.

This is the third year ATGStores.com has donated goods to Habitat ReStores as part of its All That’s Good Deeds philanthropy program, which the company began in 2014 with a focus in local volunteer and donation campaigns. Now, ATGStores.com seeks to expand the All That’s Good Deeds program to include more far-reaching projects with nonprofits.

“We enjoy working with Habitat for Humanity here in our community, and we’re excited about the opportunity to broaden the scope of our philanthropic mission,” said ATGStores.com president Michelle Newbery. “We’re always looking for new ways to give back, and this gives us a chance to bring all that’s good to even more people.”

ATGStores.com currently supplies nine Habitat ReStores with donated furniture, lighting, hardware and more, with plans to donate to 15 more stores before the new donation period ends.

“We take great pride in helping Habitat for Humanity offer its customers a great experience – the same as we do for ours,” said ATGStores.com purchasing and fulfillment director Donna Miller. “We process every donation individually to make sure ReStore locations receive high-quality products.”

Habitat ReStores are nonprofit home improvement stores and donation centers that sell building materials, appliances, new and gently used furniture, and home accessories at a fraction of the retail price. With nearly 900 Habitat ReStores across the U.S., proceeds allow Habitat to help more families build and improve their homes.

“Habitat for Humanity is grateful to continue its partnership with ATGStores.com,” said Colleen Finn Ridenhour, deputy director of Corporate, Foundation and Institutional Relations at Habitat for Humanity International. “Because of this continued support, more families across the U.S. will have the opportunity to improve their lives and their communities.”

Luxury Online Retailer 'Pops Up' at Seattle Brick-and-Mortar Store

Kirkland, WA - September 8, 2016

ATGStores.com and Styled Seattle are teaming up to give visitors to Pacific Place shopping center a unique style experience that merges personal fashion with interior design.

ATGStores.com, a premier online home furnishings retailer is furnishing fashion expert Darcy Camden's Styled Seattle pop-up store in downtown Seattle to explore how personal style influences interior design, and vice versa.

The Styled Seattle suite, which will be located on the second floor of Pacific Place shopping center in downtown Seattle, is set to open Wed., Sept. 14, 2016, and will feature furnishings from ATGStores.com.

"We're thrilled to partner with Darcy to really make Styled Seattle stand out at Pacific Place," said ATGStores.com President Michelle Newbery. "She's got great design instincts, and we have plenty of ways to highlight her style with a custom furniture and décor selection that her guests will enjoy."

Styled Seattle is a joint effort between founder and chief stylist Darcy Camden, stylist Sherri Garcia and fashion publicist Sydney Mintle. The personal styling pop-up store will offer shoppers wardrobe consulting services, closet makeovers, fashion seminars, style events and more.

"I believe there are many similarities between home design and wardrobe styling, and it was amazing to work with ATGStores.com," Camden said. "My team and I have performed over 800 wardrobe makeovers in our 10 years of business, but we've never been on the receiving end of one and are grateful to everyone who made it happen."

The interior design was overseen by Northwest Design Award winner Kirsten Conner in partnership with ATGStores.com. Conner, a Seattle-based interior designer, is a board member of the Northwest Society for Interior Designers with more than 10 years in professional practice leading her own design firm.

"As a part of my process, I divided the space into eight distinct furniture groupings," Conner said. "Then, in these lounge areas, my goal was to make Darcy's clients feel welcome, relaxed, inspired and completely open to transforming their look – and then perhaps their living spaces."

Visitors to Styled Seattle will be invited to browse the ATGStores.com website and try out the furnishings on hand while they receive style makeovers and tips. The interior design goal is to make people feel welcome and at home so they can more freely immerse themselves in their own style transformation.

"It's hard to imagine a more inviting space than what Darcy and Kirsten can dream up," Newbery said. "We're excited to see what they do, and look forward to furnishing other pop-ups in the future as we partner with more local businesses who love great design."

ATGStores.com Pro Services Expands B2B Capability, Redefines 'Volume Pricing'

Kirkland, WA - August 29, 2016

ATGStores.com Pro Services, an award-winning commercial sales team, is adding to its roster and aligning core values to meet increased demand in the lighting and furnishings industry.

ATGStores.com, a premier online home furnishings retailer and Lowe's subsidiary, is expanding its commercial sales department and training new staff on how the company views – and provides – volume pricing.

"The Pro Services team is really good at developing genuine relationships with customers that allow us to better understand and respond to each person's unique needs," said ATGStores.com President Michelle Newbery. "When we take the time to get to know our clients and their projects, we greatly improve the overall experience."

ATGStores.com Pro Services offers every client high-touch service by a dedicated account executive, which includes weekend support and one-on-one order updates from the point of sale to product delivery.

ATGStores.com Launches Alexa Hampton for Visual Comfort

New York, NY - May 20, 2016

Alexa Hampton and ATGStores.com announce the arrival of Alexa Hampton Lighting for Visual Comfort. Hampton serves as the style guru for ATGStores.com and consults on their product offerings, shopper experience and creative direction. Below, please find Hampton's top tips for considering lighting when designing your house—from several things to avoid to practical advice that can be applied to any home.

  • Lighting affects your mood. Because moods are ever changing and differ from person to person, it's nice to have lighting on a dimmer. Dimmers are the low-tech answer to addressing everyone's lighting preferences.
  • Consider a layered lighting scheme using lamplights, uplights, downlights and sconces. Overhead lighting on its own can be a sad experience. To inject some decorative value, get a colored shade. They are fun and stylish.
  • Chandelier size can be tricky for people to figure out. A rule of thumb I use is to take the width of the room in feet, double the number, convert to inches and that is the minimum dimension for your chandelier's diameter.
  • For bedside lighting, I often use swing-arm sconces. They take up no room on the bedside table, and if you're reading in bed, it's the perfect way to illuminate the pages of a book.
  • I love sconce light. It's a nice, flattering height – you don't get any of those ghoulish shadows you see with overhead lighting.

Porch.com Extends Retail Solution to Lowe's ATGStores.com

Seattle, WA - May 5, 2016

ATGStores.com offers Porch.com installation and assembly services to customers in 25 markets nationwide.

Porch.com (https://porch.com), a home services platform that connects homeowners to quality home improvement professionals, today announced it is powering installation and assembly services to Lowe’s ATGStores.com through the Porch Retail Solution.

In 2011, Lowe's acquired ATGStores.com as an independent, wholly owned subsidiary that continues to thrive as a stand-alone company.

The Porch Retail Solution is now available to ATGStores.com customers in 25 markets nationwide, allowing homeowners to book home improvement assembly and installation as an add-on to their product selection. Assembly and installation for products such as lighting, furniture assembly and plumbing can now be added to the cart at checkout, triggering a convenient scheduling process with a local Porch professional.

“ATGStores.com is committed to addressing consumers’ home improvement needs from concept to completion,” said ATGStores.com President Michelle Newbery. “With the Porch Retail Solution, we are delivering a more robust service experience that makes online shopping and home improvement stress-free.”

All Porch professionals used to complete jobs booked through ATGStores.com are local to customers’ geographic area and backed by the Porch Guarantee.

“The rules of retail are changing. Customers are looking to get their projects done from start to finish. Together with ATGStores.com, Porch can help provide a world class shopper experience that helps get every project done and every customer satisfied, ” said Porch CEO and chairman Matt Ehrlichman, “For the past three years, Porch has been focused on building a quality and responsive supply network for homeowners. In order to help realize the potential of every home, we will continue to work with retail partners to integrate services through the Porch Retail Solution.”

The Porch and ATGStores.com partnership made news earlier this year at the Seattle Showhouse, a high-end home renovation project that used furnishings and fixtures from ATGStores.com and assembly and installation by Porch.com professionals. The result was showcasing a designer-quality home from concept to completion using online tools.

The Porch Retail Solution implementation to ATGStores.com points to the expansion of the existing Lowe’s and Porch partnership, which brings Porch services into all Lowe’s stores nationwide and also includes advertising on Lowes.com.

“Our partnership with Porch is a valuable asset and another way we provide personalized care and solutions to both our DIY and professional customers,” said Jay Rebello, vice president of emerging business at Lowe’s. ”By offering the Porch Retail Solution on ATGStores.com, we believe customers will find the additional support they need to complete all of their home improvement projects.”

ATGStores.com Unveils Virtually Designed Seattle Showhouse

Kirkland, WA - January 28, 2016

Seattle's First-Ever Residential Home Designed and Decorated Entirely Online - Features Furnishings From ATGStores.com, Design and Styling by Decorist.com, and Installation Services by Porch.com

ATGStores.com, a Lowe's company offering home furnishings and design solutions online, today unveiled the Seattle Showhouse - the first designer showhouse furnished and designed entirely online.

The Seattle Showhouse demonstrates how fast and easy it is to create a designer-quality home, from concept to completion, by sourcing furnishings and décor from ATGStores.com, online interior design services from Decorist and installation by Porch.

ATG's Seattle Showhouse brings together Decorist's top Seattle-based, nationally recognized designers to recreate eight rooms in a spacious, modern home in Seattle's Queen Anne neighborhood.

Seattle designers Brian Paquette, Massucco Warner Miller, Pulp Design Studios and LindHesse Design designed the living room, family room, office and foyer, respectively; Ashley Redmond and Katja O'Brien designed the children's rooms; and New York designer, author and new ATGStores.com spokesperson, Alexa Hampton, designed the master bedroom.

Designers had less than two weeks to shop for furnishings, design layouts for the rooms, style the home and source additional décor elements by Seattle artisans to add local flair - and they did it all without stepping foot inside the home until it was time to complete the transformation.

The Seattle Showhouse represents a strategic ongoing partnership between the three companies that helps consumers create designer-quality living spaces without ever leaving their homes, all through the ATGStores.com website. Now, ATG offers direct access to interior designers from Decorist as well as installation services and professionals from Porch.

"Expanding our retail offering with interior design and installation solutions from Decorist and Porch gives our customers all the tools they need to create the house of their dreams, from concept to completion. The Seattle Showhouse project brings these partnerships to life by showing consumers how easy it can be to create the perfect living space with our products and services," said ATGStores.com President Michelle Newbery.

"The Seattle Showhouse is an exciting expansion of Decorist's first virtually designed Showhouse, launched in San Francisco in 2014. By including two additional virtual services - extensive, well-designed and affordable furniture and decor, and professional installation - this Showhouse is a true reflection of the disruption in the furniture and interior design industry. We're thrilled to be a part of this fun and beautiful demonstration to consumers of the affordability of professional online interior design," said Gretchen Hanson, CEO, Decorist.

"At Porch, we are focused on making it easier than ever for homeowners to connect with quality professionals to get their projects done," said Asha Sharma, Chief Operating Officer of Porch. "When you are able to create a platform where people can find the inspiration they desire, the products they want, and a meaningful connection with a local services professional, you can fundamentally change the way people live in their homes. This is an exciting time for our industry and we are thrilled to be working with both ATGStores.com and Decorist to showcase the potential for what the future holds."

The Seattle Showhouse, located at 167 Prospect Street, Seattle, WA, 98109, will be open to the public on Saturday, Jan. 30, 2016. More information can be found at www.atgstores.com/articles/seattle-showhouse_a6245.html.
