We had our two 12014 (3 light) xenon undercabinet lights professionally installed. One of the xenon bulbs included with one of the units was defective and was promptly replaced by Lighting Universe/Kichler. We did not install units on a dimmer switch, but instead are relying on the Hi-Lo-Off Rocker on the units with an on-off wall switch. Despite checking out the units at various showrooms of lighting retailers and marketing claims to the contrary, these xenon light units get very hot when left on (to the point of concern). We are cautiously using them for short periods of time (less than an hour) on the "low" setting. If you plan to use these lights for longer periods of time, you should consider LED or fluorescent lights instead. Aesthetically, they look very nice installed and have a slim and unobtrusive profile.
