Lawn Spreaders make a great addition to your gardening tool collection and can help you to achieve the picture perfect lawn you've always wanted. Spreaders come in two types, broadcast and drop, both of which can assist you in growing a lush, healthy lawn by efficiently distributing fertilizer, grass seed, or other lawn care products. Broadcast spreaders, also called rotary spreaders, cover a large area quickly, but will give you less control of where the product ends up. For this configuration, the material drops down from the hopper onto a spinning disc that disperses it over the lawn. Drop spreaders can more easily cover straight lines with little wasted product, however, what you gain in product control you sacrifice in ground coverage. For smaller landscapes you can use hand held and operated or push spreaders. If you have a large lawn, and a tractor or ATV, you’ll find spreaders that you can tow and cover a lot of ground in a fraction of the time.
