Had looked to compare various types of outdoor flood lighting and settled on these halogen fixtures due to the "known" relative intensity and responsiveness of halogen compared to fluorescent (doesn't like cold weather), high-pressure sodium & mercury vapor lamps (long warm-up time, large fixtures), LED (WAY too expensive at this time), incandescent (ugly fixtures). These are solidly constructed, compact, sealed against the weather and are easily adjustable to direct the beam in any direction. This alone would yield a 5-star rating. However, my ONLY concern could be with the potential long-term availability of replacement bulbs - could only find them at Bulbman.com and they were initially on back-order - got them as spares, so no worries or complaints for now.
