good, but not great.
I have had a chance to use my spreader for my intended purpose, planting food plots. I think it would have scored better had I used it for its intended purpose, lawns. It spreads evenly and worked well for both fertilizer and seed, but had a bit of trouble on rough, tilled ground. Again, this was not the task for which it was built, but the wide wheel base and relatively large wheels helped in this regard. The screen rattled around alot once the level of seed or fertilizer fell below that level which was not unexpected but could be remedied by having a way to clamp it down. One area that I was not particularly pleased with was the arm that adjusts the flow rate. It tended to slip closed (without warning) and I eventually had to use a pair of Vice Grips to prevent this from happening. Overall, I think this is a good product. It would likely do very well on smooth surfaces and with a few modifications I think it will serve my purposes well. It certainly is a bargain compared to a 3 point spreader to attach to the back of my tractor, so I would purchase it again even if I knew then what I know now. Just keep in mind, if you intend to use this item on rough surfaces, there will be a learning curve.
