review of sdla325 - adjustable hd pocket lock - privacy
I was replacing the brass pocket door knob to a half bathroom with a brushed nickel finish. I needed the 3.5 inch by 2.25 inches knob. I searched the local hardware stores and home improvement stores and all they carried was 2.75 by 2.25 inches. I needed this exact size because of the cutout on the door. No one at the stores volunteered to see if it could be ordered through them, so I searched the internet and found this one. Although I paid about $10-$15 more for it, is prevented me from having to replace the pocket door itself. The delivery was fast and it looks great.
This was a breeze to install. Reversing the lock for the door direction was easy. To cut into the door I used a wood clamp as a guide and cut with a very fine saw. The vertical cut was made with a sabre saw after drilling a small corner hole for the blade. All the cuts are hidden by the frame of the lock.
