a very econonical and seemingly reliable choice
We are rehabbing a 1940's ish house which was in really rough condition. The existing mortise locksets were not worth salvaging, but the cost of using period correct parts well exceeded the modest value of the property. These locksets seemed a great solution. The only matter being, the actual body of the lock set is thinner and taller than the locksets being removed. Not that this is a huge issue, but expanding the slot in the door is a total pain. What could have taken maybe 10 minutes ends up taking about 1/2 hour per door.
Still, these locksets are a good option when working under budgetary constraints.
