Great for 25 Ga studs
By Jason G. from Plymouth, MI on Apr 26, 2012
Avid Do-It-Yourselfer
These crimpers work flawlessly on 25 GA metal studs. I find that I can usually crimp with one hand, and it makes for very quick work. I looked on line and on the packaging, and could not find the maximum recommended thickness of metal to crimp. Some of my basement framing required 2x6 members to contain lally poles. These were only available in 20 gauge. The crimpers worked, but required both hands to make a crimp. After finishing the majority of those crimps, we finally got to a part of the basement with more ambient light. Only then did I see that the anvil side of the tool is etched with "22 GA max." I'm guessing that the opposite side was visible in the packaging, as I and a helper looked them over carefully before we opened them. Oh well, they don't show any wear, and this was money well spent for the project.

Good investment.
By Brian E. from Delaware on Aug 16, 2011
Practical, Professional
Glad I bought the tool for a basement finishing job I am framing out with metal studs. I think the tool is self-explanatory. The catch latch quickly releases when you take it out of your pocket. Grips are comfortable. While I can operate the tool with a single hand, there have been a couple of tight spots where two hands ease operation. I am already considering buying the similar tool, the automatic 1/8" hole punch, for an upcoming drop ceiling job.
