Paint Sprayer Mobility
This is best to consider in regards to your project and where you'll be using the sprayer. Handheld sprayers are more mobile, but usually still require connection to a larger unit. Carted sprayers are on a stand with wheels and can be rolled. Stationary sprayers are on a stand without wheels, but can still be picked up.

Air and HVLP paint sprayers both require a connection to compressed air, such as an Air Compressor. These are best used for precise spraying and finishing. Airless sprayers are best used for quick and even spraying of larger areas.

Saved my bacon.
By Joe C. from Prosper, TX on Mar 20, 2014
Many years ago I had a commercial Campbell Hausfeld airless paint sprayer. It did a great job and lasted for many years. I gave it away when I moved, and I understand it still works. Well I needed a sprayer for a large privacy fence in our new house. This fence is eight feet tall and hard to get to in many places, and it is a board on board which means many, many edges. I saw this little Campbell Hausfeld PS 120 B compact sprayer and I decided to give it a whirl. I was not disappointed. It worked flawlessly and I painted the fence in one long day by myself. I was pressed for time and I needed to do this on a mostly windless day and before the next chance of rain. This window of opportunity gave me one day and one day only. If I had not had this sprayer I never would have made it. The motor pulses on and off as you need the pressure. If you are not spraying, it is not running. It stays cooler this way and the noise is kept down, even though this is not a noisy machine. I was using a thick latex stain in two five gallon buckets, and was afraid the sprayer would not pick up the stuff and give it in sufficient quantities. Not to worry. This little baby sprayed well for me nine hours straight. I cleaned it up, put storage fluid in it and put it away for next time. The only con I have for this sprayer is that the pickup tube is too stiff and does not quite reach to the bottom of the tall five gallon buckets. I had to transfer almost one gallon of paint to a to a one gallon bucket to finish off what I had bought. By titling the large bucket to one side I was able to empty the second five gallon bucket almost completely. I like this sprayer, and would not consider paying more for a different sprayer. CP products are built to last. Recommended to buy.
