Bought 6 for house and out building. The mounting plate is well sized to support the fixture in our windy area. The 13 watt CFL is perfect. Enough light for us to see but not so much as to irritate neighbors. Screw mounting plate to box, wire nut three wires, screw fixture to plate, simple! But, depending on your electrical box, mounting plate may end up recessed or proud. Screws from plate out to fixture need to be right length (and tight) for the cap nuts to work. You can use longer screws or place a nut or two behind the plate to shorten the distance the screws protrude. And we love the photocell auto on-off feature.
I am writing a review for the Acclaim ES9560 Beaufort Small outdoor sconce. I bought two of these lights. One for each side of my garage service double door. Not the overhead door. I install them about a week ago with no real big problem. I first painted the garage then hung these lights on each side of the double doors. That would make them about six feet apart. They have a nice finish and are made out of a good weight of metal. I didn't find any plastic. Intructions were easy to understand. They use a GU24 light bulb that uses only 13 watts. I don't know why they put in a GU24 socket rather than a regular screw-in bulb but that was the only thing I had a problem installing. You have to take this small bulb while looking from under the light and connect it to these two little hole then twist it to lock in. The 13 watt bulb gives you the same light as a 60 watt bulb. These two lights give enough light to light my entire sidewalk(24ft) to my back porch. For now I am happy with my purchase. The lights look great. The dusk/dawn control works great. I don't have to turn them on. They give me more light then I expected. Great buy.
