Outdoor Transformers allow one to create and install lighting systems in their own yard! These transformers convert line voltage (120V) to low voltage (12V) currents, reducing risk of electrical shock and power costs. Outdoor Transformers also have the ability to shut off automatically, allowing these systems to be left on without having to be monitored.
How to Choose the Right Electrical Transformer Transformers are required if you are installing low voltage indoor or outdoor lighting. In the United States, the standard electrical output is 120 volts, so if your lights are a lower voltage, you will need a transformer.
