Recessed can light models are designed to meet a wide variety of installation requirements. Special features of housings can include being air tight, IC rated for insulated ceilings, low profile, or adapted to sloped ceilings.
There are 3 distinct ratings to familiarize yourself with: dry, damp, and wet. Dry locations: Areas where any dampness that occurs can be easily compensated for by ventilation, such as kitchens, living rooms, and dining rooms. Damp locations: Areas where some moisture and condensation can build up, normally bathrooms. Wet locations: Areas where water or liquids may drip, such as open decks, stairwells, and patios.
A recessed lighting kit describes a recessed can housing, and a matching recessed trim. Recessed lighting kits are fully functional right out of the box; all you have to do is connect them to a power source and insert a bulb. Choosing a recessed lighting kit usually starts with deciding which color or finish you prefer. Our recessed light kits can be found in a wide range of both colors and finishes, including: black, white, brass, nickel, and many others.
