This light fixture looks beautiful and is something that everyone comments on. Once our electrician mounted the base and had the light working, the assembly of the bubbles was a fly-by-the-seat-of-my-pants kind of experience.
There were not instructions and there are several different configurations of the strands, making it a little complicated. Example: One strand might have 1 medium bubble, 2 small and 1 large. Another might have 2 large and 1 small bubble. It is then up to you to decide where to hang each of the strands and how to space them on the wire so that a wind coming by won't crack two bubbles into each other and break them both! All this while standing on a table or ladder...
I recommend using a thin pair of gloves to assemble this, so that you don't permanently add fingerprints to the bubbles. I used a pair of gloves that a different chandelier had provided for assembly to prevent fingerprints. The bubbles are so delicate, it would be nearly impossible to thoroughly clean them once assembled, especially without causing a swing and resulting breakage.
More expensive light fixtures that are similar have little metal "caps" at the end of each wire to give a more finished look, especially on some wires that hang free below the lowest bubble. But this fixture is less expensive than those others.
All in all this light fixture is fantastic to look at! A little guidance on the assembly would have been nice, but I have no regrets in hanging it.
It came with no instructions and my attempts to reach the vendor where unsuccessful. No voice mail or even hours listed for when I might contact someone. It came with no instructions for how to place the stands of bubbles.
I'm a designer, so I created my own design, but it took too much of my time. There was also a packing error and I received an extra stand of bubbles but it made me wonder if I received the correct combination of the right bubbles in the first place. The bubbles were also very very dirty. Covered inside and out with a film indicating to me that these had been not sealed and were allowed to accumulate dirt and film. There were also finger prints on the bubbles. Cleaning the outside of the bubbles can be accomplished but removing the film from the inside is impossible, so they will never sparkle like a $1200 lamp should. The strand wiring was bent in many places as well.
Over all, this lamp was poorly packed and too expensive for the quality. Many bubbles hang crooked because the holes were not centered properly (this cannot be adjusted) and I'll have to tie off the ends of each strand myself, no easy task at 10 feet in the air. It is a beautiful and stunning design... just very poorly executed. There are similar lights out there with much better quality... try Lamps Plus before buying this one!
