I am very pleased with this light fixture. I just remodeled my kitchen and wanted it to look contemporary without being out of synch with the rest of the house, and this works very well. Also, I am using the compact fluorescent bulbs to help save the planet!
I ordered this fixture back in November, excited to have it for all of my Christmas dinners I was having in my dining room. The bowl came broken. To make a long story short, 3 months later and 4 broken bowls we are furious!!! I can't believe with all of these damaged bowls something hasn't been done. Packaging is far less than sufficient! The people on the phone were not apologetic at all and just wanted to send us yet another replacement bowl!! Now they expect us to ship it back to them!! Stay away from this light!!
We received the lamp quickly, unfortunately the glass bowl was broken. The replacement shipment of the glass only took 2 weeks, arrived broken again. We are now waiting for our third shipment...Quality of the lamp is good and it looks nice, but the packaging is a big issue and needs to be addressed. Customer Service was very friendly throughout the ordeal so far.
We installed this pretty light in our dining room. It looks great, but was a bear to install. The instructions were almost non-existent, and the side bars were tricky to put on. (Luckily, my husband is very handy. If not for him, it would still be in pieces on the floor.) One tip: Do not tighten the screws on the bowl too much; the pendant will crack. Overall, it's a nice light for a very reasonable price.
Purchased this for our 1920s Bungalow Dining Room for which we wanted a Charles Rennie MacIntosh type look. We'd wanted a much more expensive chandelier, but couldn't justify the cost at this point in our renovation. We're very happy we bought this item! Although it's not artisan craftsmanship or quality, it gives us the look we desired at a great price. The first globe arrived broken due to very poor packing, but Customer Service promptly ordered the replacement and the second globe arrived in one piece; our installation was delayed merely 1 week. My husband assembled and installed it. The directions are basically schematics, but not too hard to figure out. Beware that the chain is very substantial--it takes quite a bit of strength to bend it. With 4 100w bulbs--we used dimmable CFLs--it puts out quite a bit of light. We love the linen look globe. A very good first experience with Lighting Universe.
This light fixture looks exactly as pictured! It has added a nice touch to the seating area that it was purchased for. The bowl pendant is centered and suspended 4' over a marble top coffee table that is surrounded by a large white sofa and two matching chairs. It looks great!!
