Will it give enough light on my table being the globes go upward?
It depends on how much light you are looking to put out. This takes 60w bulbs so it should put out a pretty good amount of light.

I have never ordered a chandelier--what do I have to do/measure so that I know that this will be the correct fit?
Diann you will need to measurement the height from floor to ceiling or table to celing so that the drop is not to low also you will need to measure the ceilng so that your chandelier is not to big for the ceiling but just right.

What are the correct measurements for a chandelier to make sure it is the right fit for a room/table?
That would be plenty of light for the room. The design standard is that the diameter of the chandelier should be half the width of the table. It should be about 30-35" off above the table.
