Hot Knobs Glow in the Dark Pull
The colors on these knobs and pulls are tints which allow the glow material to charge better. These glow in the dark knobs and pulls lasts for about 4 to 8 hours after it has absorbed strong visible lights for about 30 minutes. The glow material can repeatedly absorb and emit visible light for over 10 years without any perceivable change of its properties.
In the creation process, a specific amount of glow in the dark small art glass frit (BB sized crushed glass) is placed into a mold. It then goes into a kiln and is heated to about 1,300°F. This produces a square or rectangle piece of glow in the dark glass. Following, a new piece of art glass is cut slightly larger than the frit and the two pieces are fired together to around 1,450°F. When cooled, the stand-offs are glued on and it is ready to be installed on cabinets.
