The Hickory P244 hinges on my kitchen cabinets are beginning to fail at 10 years. The plastic interior parts are crumbling. I have other cabinet hinges that are 38 years old that still work fine. However, I didn't want to take a chance with another brand because I wanted the mounting holes to match up, so I bought a new set of Hickory P244 hinges. No such luck on the holes. On the part of the hinge that the door mounts on, the holes are 1/16 of an inch closer to the hinge pivot, so now I am going to have to either elongate the hinge holes, or plug and re-drill the holes in the doors. With 46 hinges, each with 3 holes, that's 138 holes I have to fix... a lot of work I shouldn't have had to do if Hickory had kept their hinge dimensions consistent. I hope these are going to last longer than 10 years.
