5-4-08 ATG Stores Launches Eco Lighting Universe Website
Kirkland, WA May 4, 2008

Kirkland, WA - ATG Stores, the parent company of 22 home furnishings related e-commerce sites, and 12 showrooms located throughout Washington State, is proud to announce the launch of a new site dedicated entirely to American-Made Lighting.

AmericanMadeLighting.com was created to offer shoppers the widest selection of American-Made lighting on the internet. All products available on AmericanMadeLighting.com are constructed in the USA by independent manufacturers who maintain a dedication to quality and true artisan craftsmanship. Customers can shop with confidence knowing that their purchases will help support the struggling United States national economy, as well as the workers and designers who produced these products.

While the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) considers products "Made in the USA" to consist of 'all or virtually all' domestically produced or manufactured parts and labor, the FTC does not take into consideration the location or ownership of the company. ATG's standard is different, considering "American-Made Lighting" to be constructed of over 51% American-Made parts, completely assembled within the United States, and manufactured by companies both owned and operated nationally.

Gary Rubens, CEO of ATG Stores explains, "For example, if a company based in the United States builds an iron frame for a specific fixture, wires, and assembles the fixture locally, but the glass component is manufactured in China, the product would not qualify as "Made in the USA" [according to the FTC's regulations], because the glass bowl is a substantial part of the overall product. Since ATG considers "American-Made" products to be constructed of mostly all locally produced materials, this product would qualify." Rubens continued that "customers often ask specific questions about a product's country of origin, as supporting US companies and manufacturing is quickly becoming an issue of importance."

ATG hopes that providing a site dedicated to American-Made lighting will encourage US consumers to make buying decisions that will support local businesses. With a national economic downturn forecasted, ATG aims to promote economic growth by becoming the source for American-Made lighting on the web.

4-22-08 ATG Stores Launches Eco Lighting Universe Website
Kirkland, WA April 22, 2008

Kirkland, WA - ATG Stores, the parent company of 5 major e-commerce sites, 15 niche sites, and 12 showrooms located throughout Washington State, is proud to announce the launch of a new specialized site dedicated entirely to green lighting for the home, EcoLightingUniverse.com.

The concept behind EcoLightingUniverse.com is to offer environmentally-conscious consumers, builders, and designers a more efficient shopping experience by providing a full catalog of products specific to reducing the ecological impact of residential lighting. The site offers a complete selection of ENERGY STAR® certified lighting products, as well as fluorescent bulbs and fixtures, LED technology, Dark Sky compliant outdoor lighting, Dimmer systems, and Solar lighting.

Along with offering the largest selection of earth-friendly lighting fixtures on the web, ATG also aims to help educate its customers by offering research and information about sustainable energy, and the environmental costs associated. Customers have the opportunity to learn about the products they are shopping for, and gain essential knowledge about the ways these products can help reduce their home's carbon footprint.

But what makes Eco lighting so important? Gary Rubens, ATG Stores President explains, "If every household in America replaced the five light fixtures that are most frequently used with ENERGY STAR® approved lighting or equivalent compact fluorescent bulbs, energy costs would be cut by nearly $8 billion per year, and the greenhouse gas emissions prevented would be equivalent to that of 10 million cars." This equates to an individual household responsibility for preventing the release of over 5,000lbs of harmful CO2, and a savings of nearly $300 in energy costs over the lifetime of the bulbs. Who knew that something as simple as changing a light bulb can add up to such a big difference?

ATG hopes that providing a site dedicated to ecologically conscious lighting will encourage consumers to make green decisions when designing and remodeling their homes. Ultimately, ATG aims to promote awareness for environmental and energy conservation, by becoming the source for energy efficient lighting and information on the web.

4-21-08 ATG Stores Expands into more divisions of Home Improvement
Kirkland, WA April 21, 2008

Kirkland, WA - ATG Stores, the parent company of 5 major e-commerce sites, 15 niche sites, and 12 showrooms located throughout Washington State, announces its expansion into several new divisions of homewares. The new channels to be added will include outdoor living, home furnishings, and home appliances.

ATG Stores began in 1999 solely as an online retailer of decorative lighting products. Since then, ATG has grown to develop divisions for plumbing, hardware, flooring, and accent décor products. ATG's hope is that these new channels will help propel the ATG Stores family into a comprehensive one-stop-shop, providing everything customers need for the home.

"We're incredibly excited about adding these new lines to our family of stores" said Luke Goff, Business Development Manager, "by expanding into more channels ATG will be able to offer customers an all-inclusive shopping experience, while also helping to strengthen our role as one of the top homewares providers on the web."

OutdoorLivingShowroom.com, the first addition to be launched, will offer customers a wide selection of products, from outdoor cooking equipment including grills, barbeques, and smokers, to casual furnishings such as hammocks, patio sets, outdoor fire pits and heaters, umbrellas, and exterior rugs. The site will also offer a wide selection of accessories from furniture covers to grilling supplies, children's playsets, and much more.

Another site currently in development will offer a complete catalog of home furnishings, from dining room tables to bedding, sofas, occasional furniture and beyond. ATG also plans to create several online stores for home appliances, offering everything from washers and dryers to ranges and refrigerators. As with their current sites, ATG's customers can purchase all products online and have them delivered directly to their door.

What's next for ATG Stores? This rapidly growing company plans to continue to progress by researching more divisions and niche sites for addition to its family of stores. With the recent opening of their 12th new local showroom in Smokey Point, WA, ATG continues to reinforce its position as one of the leading providers of decorative lighting, plumbing, flooring, and hardware in the nation.

4-20-08 ATG Stores Launches New Niche Websites
Kirkland, WA April 20, 2008

Kirkland, WA - ATG Stores, the parent company of five e-commerce sites and 12 showrooms throughout Washington State, announces the launch of 13 new niche sites to be added to their family of stores. The sites to be launched are: CrystalLightingUniverse.com, ModernLightingUniverse.com, ExteriorLightingUniverse.com, ModernRugUniverse.com, KidsRoomUniverse.com, ModernBathUniverse.com, CeilingFanUniverse.com, DesignerLightingPortfolio.com, TowelWarmerStore.com, TiffanyLightingUniverse.com, AreaRugUniverse.com, and BilliardSupplyUniverse.com.

These new niche sites were created to help specialized shoppers shop within a chosen category, style, or theme. "By offering sites dedicated to specific product catalogs, customers can more efficiently search for and locate the exact products they are looking for," said Donald DeVange, ATG's Search Engine Specialist. These niche sites will also give ATG's manufacturers more opportunities to feature their products to a targeted customer base, and will help support the new ATG Stores brand.

ATG hopes that these niche sites will provide customers with a comfortable and effortless shopping experience, while providing them with the same dedication to value and support as the original sites. These new sites will present shoppers with a customized look, as well as special features, articles, and additional product information as significant to each site. As an added convenience, sites such as KidsRoomUniverse.com and CrystalLightingUniverse.com will feature additional products across multiple channels, such as crystal cabinet knobs and décor items, and kid's sinks, hardware, and rugs. From this format customers will have the ability to shop for a wider selection of coordinating products within a chosen theme, all from one place.

What's next for ATG Stores? The company plans to add even more niche sites to its family, and will also be expanding into other divisions of home design. With a 12th new local showroom recently opened in Smokey Point, WA, ATG continues to strengthen its role as one of the top providers of decorative lighting, plumbing, flooring, and hardware in the nation.

2-2-08 Lighting Universe Opens New Showroom in Smokey Point
Marysville, WA February 2, 2008

Marysville, WA - Allied Trade Group Inc. (ATG), the parent company of five leading home improvement related e-commerce sites and 11 local showrooms, announces the grand opening of its 12th showroom and design center in the Smokey Point community, located in the Lakewood Crossing Commercial District at 17020 Twin Lakes Ave.

The Smokey Point location was strategically selected to become the next site of Lighting Universe's expansion due to the area's tremendous growth. According to recent census statistics, Smokey Point's population has risen an estimated 26.2% since the year 2000, with housing and development experiencing a 23.3% increase. The recent approval of the nearby Whiskey Ridge master planned community project will create an additional 4,968 single-family homes within its 673.5 acres. Once finished, this enormous community is expected to increase the city's population by 27.3% alone. ATG anticipates that Lighting Universe's position as the sole shopping destination for retail lighting in the area combined with the city's rapid population boom will equate to enormous success for the new showroom.

"We're incredibly fortunate for this opportunity to expand our family of showrooms to this area," said Gary Rubens, CEO of Allied Trade Group, parent company of Lighting Universe. "Smokey Point is quickly becoming an area of interest for businesses and homeowners; it's a region that is expected to undergo many positive changes over the next several years, and we're looking forward to providing our products and services to that market."

The Smokey Point showroom is designed to provide customers with a comprehensive shopping experience. Alongside offering an extensive variety of retail lighting, Lighting Universe extends its customer support base by providing complimentary in-home consultations and design assistance onsite for both trade and retail customers. Additionally, Lighting Universe aims to support builders and contractors as the full-service resource for all their residential and commercial lighting needs, through offering trade professionals with exclusive pricing and project management tools.

Despite a forecasted economic slowdown, ATG continues to expand by launching a new series of niche websites to their family of stores, as well as the addition of two new showrooms opening in 2008. A recent Inc. Magazine 500 list ranked ATG at #124 on its 2006 list of fastest growing private companies in the country, and the Puget Sound Business Journal recognized ATG as one of the 2007 Top 100 fastest growing companies in the Pacific Northwest. With a new Burlington showroom project scheduled to reach completion this spring, Lighting Universe continues to strengthen its role as one of the top providers of decorative lighting in the nation.
